Most Popular Porn Niches - 2000 - 2017

Let's start by looking into porn with girls of different age. Which demographic do you think people want to watch the most? The search results speaks for themeselves and clearly crowns Teen porn as the undisputed winner. Mature, MILF and Young porn each only gets about 33% of the search volume that Teen porn gets and Granny porn gets about 11%, in 2017. Maybe a little surprising is that Granny porn gets about 1/3 of the searches compare with MILF and Mature porn which is not too shabby. A Google search for MILF porn yields 19m results while Granny porn yields 13m results. This indicates that there are a lot more Mature porn compared with the demand than there is MILF porn. It has about 70% of the amount of content while only having a third of the searches. For comparison reasons, note that Teen porn has about 50% of the popularity compared with HD porn (in 2017). The amount of searchers for these niches was steady growing since the start of the millennia until July of 2014 when they all started slowly declining. In 2017 the search volume has been steady and not showing increases or declines in popularity. For USA the chart looks almost the same only giving MILF porn a slighty edge over Mature porn. Old Young porn gets one third of the searches that Granny porn gets in 2017.

Let's check out which exotic and nationality of porn poeple wanna watch. The graph for world-wide interest got demolished by the huge amount of Indian porn searches so the following graph is for interest from within the USA. Again a chart that shows searches and interest to increase until July of 2014 and slowly declining after that. I would say that this does not suggest that online porn is losing popularity but rather that people are finding their favorite porn sites online over time and goes straight to those sites rather than using Google to search every time. Latina porn has about 50% of the searches compared with Ebony porn and Asian porn and White porn is right in the middle between those two in 2017. Where in the USA do you think people like Asian porn the most and where do people want to watch Ebony girls, in 2017? I got a little surprised that there was such a difference between the west coast and the east coast and the north and the south.

The next search trends I am going to look at is the resolution and technology of porn people are searhcing for in 2017. This shows that 4K porn demand has been growing steadily since the start of the year. VR porn was tremendously popular at the start of 2017 (still only 8% of searches compared with HD porn though) but could not keep the interest at those peak levels and has slightly lost interest over time - but it is still about double in popularity compared with 4K porn. UHD porn has about 2% of the interest compare with VR porn. Comparing VR and 4K to HD is really no point since it diminished those two technologies (resolutions) totally. VR porn has about 2.5% of the popularity of HD porn in 2017 and 4K porn, again, half of that. How many years will it take until 4K replaces HD? And will VR take over completely in the future? I will definately come back and check how those trends develops going forward and into 2018.

What about same gender and tranny porn popularity? The graphs shows that Gay porn trumps Lesbian porn and Tranny porn in 2017. Lesbian porn has slighly less than 50% of the popularity of Gay porn and Tranny porn has about 5% of the popularity of Gay porn. For comparison reasons note that Gay porn has 50% of the searches compared with HD porn and it slightly more popular than Teen porn(!) (despite this a Google search yields only 80% of the content compared with Teen porn).

Let's also take a look at some other popular niches. Step family porn is a really hot niche and the graph shows that it has grown tremendously in popularity since the millenia. The most popular Step niche is Step Mom with the same popularity as the (unrelated!) BDSM porn niche in 2017. The Step Sisten niche has about half of the popularity of those. The Foot Fetish niche has like many other niches shown stready growth until July of 2014 and after that it has been declining. The BDSM niche has also been showing a slight decline in search popularity. Step Father porn and Foot Fetish porn has about the same popularity online at about 17% of the searches compared with the Step Mom and BDSM porn niches in 2017. If you are looking for Step Mom porn you only have 2 million Google hits to discover compared with BDSM porn niche which has 10 million hits. That's only 20% of the content even though the popularity amongst searchers are equal. Content creators should have great opportunities here! For comparative reasons please note that BDSM porn and Step Mom porn only has about 2% of the popularity in search compared with HD porn in 2017.

The 2016 insights shared by PornHub shows that the most popular niches on their site in 2016 was Lesbian, Step Mom, MILF, Teen and Step Sister. Pretty aligned with the niche popularity according to Google searches except for Lesbian which seems to be a lot more popular than what is suggested previously.

But what are the most popular niches according to Google search?

We have compared some popular niches here already but let's look at what actually are the most searched for porn terms today to determine what is the most popular niches in 2017 compared with how they were doing 10 years ago. For some reason I was not able to go back all the way to 2000 so the chart only goes back to 2005. I excluded Indian and HD porn. Lesbian porn was almost popular enough to get in the top 5 and included in the chart. We can see from the chart that Mom porn has appeared form nowhere until now being one of the most poular niches. Ass porn has bout tripled in popuarity and the other niches has also grown significantly by about 100%.
